Paws 4 Blue K-9 Grant Guidelines

Paws 4 Blue K-9 is committed to providing financial assistance to eligible active and retired Police K9s. Because our organization relies on donations and fundraising, grant availability is based on the funds available at the time of each request.

Grant Eligibility

Paws 4 Blue K-9 provides assistance for:

  • Active Police K9 Teams serving with law enforcement agencies whose K9 programs are supported through donations or fundraising.

  • Retired Police K9s, regardless of the funding status of their former law enforcement agency, for eligible emergency medical assistance.

To qualify for assistance with Emergency Medical Expenses, Essential Equipment, or Training, an active K9 must currently be serving with a recognized law enforcement agency within the United States.

Retired Police K9s that previously served with a recognized U.S. law enforcement agency may apply for Emergency Medical Assistance.

Grant Funding Priorities

Grant applications are evaluated according to the nature and urgency of the request. Available funds will generally be distributed according to the following priorities:

1st Priority — Emergency Medical Expenses
Emergency medical requests receive the highest consideration due to the immediate health and welfare needs of the K9.

2nd Priority — Essential Equipment
Requests for equipment necessary for the safety, health, or effective performance of an active Police K9 may be considered based on available funding.

3rd Priority — Training
Funding requests for necessary K9 training may be considered after higher-priority medical and equipment needs have been addressed.

Application Review & Funding

All grant applications will be carefully reviewed by the Paws 4 Blue K-9 review panel. Each request will be evaluated based on eligibility, urgency, demonstrated need, and the availability of funds.

For non-emergency requests, please allow up to 21 days for the review process. Applicants will be notified by email regarding the status of their application.

Submission of a grant application does not guarantee approval or the disbursement of funds. Grants are awarded as funding becomes available, and Paws 4 Blue K-9 reserves the right to modify grant priorities, eligibility requirements, funding amounts, or grant distributions when necessary.

Our Commitment

Paws 4 Blue K-9 understands the important role Police K9s play in protecting their handlers and the communities they serve. We are committed to doing everything within our available resources to help eligible active and retired Police K9s receive the assistance they need.

As a donation-funded organization, our ability to provide grants depends on the generosity of our supporters. You can help us continue this mission by spreading the word about Paws 4 Blue K-9, supporting our fundraising efforts, and helping us reach more people who believe in supporting our Police K9s.
